Very Big Problem. Please, Help.
Hi, I have instaled Bit Defender Antivirus 2008.
I have run a scan and everything was allright.
Next day, tryed to restart my computer and I have no acess.
Here is what happens: the windows XP starts running, it asks me to choose the user and then starts loading my definitions. 3 or 4 seconds latter, closes the windows section and stores my definitions without starting anything.
I have tryed do acess in safe mode (and any other mode) and the problem is allways the same. I can't do nothing in the computer, not even uninstalling Bitdefender
has this hapen to any one. Does any one have a clue in how to resolve this?
Thank you

Hi,
Have you tried to log in from the 'safe mode' as administrator? if you have not set a password for administrator usually you don't need a password, if you need one you try to leave it blank, or try 'admin' or 'blank' or 'empty'.
If you can't log using this method you may need 'The Ultimate Boot CD' , by which you can remove the administrator password and then log in from the safe mode as administrator.
But there may be other suggestions.0 -
Adding to my comment: I have not personally used the UBCD ( which I read can be dangrous to use) and prefer to use less radical measures.

Hi farbar, thank you for the answer.
i have tryed to log in with all the possibilities Windows XP gives (safe mode has administrator, as user, with net, everithing) i never had a password for that. The result is allways the same, it starts loading my settings and 3 sec. latter I get the message of "finnishing windows section" and nothing more happens.
Is it possible that Bitdefender, in the first scan erased something infected that was needed to the good function of the windows? Some DLL por something like that?0 -
In theory it is possible, but it's impossible to tell for sure what happened. Your easiest option is to use your Windows installation CD to perform a repair install.
