Memscan/ Deepscan What Does It Mean?
in Malware talk
Hi,
I would be very interested to find out what the differences are when bitdefender detects malware as
Memscan:tojanxxxxxx or Deepscan.trojanxxxx Are these heuristic or generic detections as some of these detections don't have 'gen' on the end?
I know the 'behave' always indicates heuristics?
Justr wondering?
Thanks
Jlo

Memscan indicates that the infected item was found in memory, this means that the file is executing in memory (or is loaded in memory, in case of libraries). Deepscan indicates that the file was found infected after a deep scan.
