Bitdefender P2p Update Distribution Method

I have Bitdefender AV Plus 2013 installed on my system currently


if i remember correctly, Bitdefender had an option to download and distribute updates over P2P(Bit-torrent) protocol which allowed faster updates.


the users were given the option to enable it during installation.


is that feature still available in BDAV 2013?


if yes, how do i enable it?

    Hope I am understanding your question. You can still manually update virus files it is now called weekly update but I think it is updated regularly, just follow this link and install the program. http://www.bitdefender.com/support/How-to-...ly-exe-888.html. I am not sure it will be much faster than manually updating, which is what I do each time I start my computer. It takes about 1-2 minutes for the updates to download and install. A lot of programs on computers are set to update when the computer is turned on so this creates a bottle neck and slows your computer speed down. Other factors such as processor and internet connection speed also play a role.

    its a shame they decided to remove that feature,


    it was quite innovative to say the least and quite useful for people with high pings to the update server, considering the size of updates


    any idea why they decided to ditch it?


    are they planning to re-implement it in near future?


    with the current update mechanism, sometimes my updates don't even start even after pressing the Update button manually,


    it just shows 0KB of 0KB downloaded even after 10-15 minutes and is cancelled after some time :/
