Ftp Blocked
After installing Bitdefender antivirus (2013) no ftp outgoing is possible. Tried it with 2 separate ftp programs. Added the ftp programs as trusted under app rules (all events, any protocol, etc.) Nothing. Disabled the firewall and the anitvirus. Nothing.
Contacted the IP and they said it was on my end....any suggestions.

First of all Bitdefender Antivirus don't have Firewall Module, you may have Internet Security instead.
And for your issue try to disable "scan http traffic" option from Antivirus Module and use the product in User Mode and also turn ON Paranoid Mode from Firewall Module.

First, thank you for the reply and the links.
You are correct about "Security" instead of "Antivirus." The rest did nothing.
The two things I did not already try was your suggestion of turning off http scanning and set the adapter to generic.
I would have thought that turning everything off would show that Bit Defender was the issue. As a last resort I will uninstall Bit Defender and see if that works. (unless you have any other suggestions ?) If the uninstall works, since I am inside 30 days, I will probably go over to Eset. Shame (for me) BD seems rather elegant and a great price.0 -
FTP is using port 21 and 22. try to add this at the firewall and you should be good to go.
