Help Disabling Parental Controls Service
Hello,
I've just purchased and installed 2013 total security. I have never enabled the parental controls yet I see the bdparentalservice.exe running on my system and using quite a bit of memory.
I did come across this update thread which states that the service will no longer run if Parental Controls is not enabled starting with version 16.18.0.1406
http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry152958
I've confirmed my version is 16.30.0.1843
Would appreciate some guidance on the correct way to disable this service outside of disabling it through windows.
Thanks,
Luca

It is because the Parental Control can be configured via MyBitdefender.com not locally, so when you configure the Parental Control settings, they will be applied through this service/process, I think.
And in that topic which you linked "bdparentalservice.exe will be stopped if Parental Control is disabled from My Bitdefender;".... It means that this is done only when you disable the Parental Control from My Bitdefender and not locally. And by the way it was very old updates, you have to check the latest ones.0 -
Thanks for the reply ONT.
Can anyone guide me on how to disable it through MyBitdefender.com? When I go to it, it forces me to create a child profile and I'm not seeing the options to disable it.
Thanks0
