Restart After Update

Bitdefender Free updates quite regular, more often than most free programs - However it keeps popping up a message saying that it has updated and that a restart is required for it to become active.

So far today I've had 4 updates and had to reboot on each ocassion

Why does this happen, I have never known an AV program to require a reboot when simply updating etc

What is the point, why does this forum exist - Time for ALL moderators and Admins to IMMEDIATELY resign and GIVE UP their Computer equipment

Was thinking of upgrading to the paid product but will no longer consider it

No problem here running BD AV Free on W7-SP1 x64. Then again I did a fresh install recently. Its amazing how screwed up computers can become just over time without having virus problems. I tell people they should do a clean install of their Windows OS once a year. You would be amazed at how many problems it eliminates.

    Hello,

Can you provide us gzserv.log to see if there is a problen?

What version of BD AV Free are you using now?

You can be confunsed about restarting the system if the product finds some infections that need to restart the system in order to disinfect them. Can you tell us if you have active infection in Threat Control tab?

I do NOT have an option marked Thread Control

All I see in the Free Bitdefender is

    Virus Shiield

    Autoscan

    Quarantine

    On Deman

    My Bit Defender

It is when it does an update presumably of signaturess that it shows a small pop up stating that a restart is required

Tried uploading the log to a service referred in a PM but it told me that I could not upload a folder - So STUCK and wondering if worth staying with BitDefender Free

When I try to attach it to this post it continues to say No File Chosen - Useless

You can only attach a file that's max 2 MB. Try to upload it externally and post the link here.

You can access Threat Control from the main interface -> Logs from the bottom left corner -> Threat Control from the bottom of the new window.
