Has My Firewall Been Remotely Disabled?
I just checked the network activity log in Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 and near the bottom it says "[bDFW] [DEVIO] Firewall disabled". The next entries in the log are almost a week later, but during that 6 day gap I was using my laptop and BD certainly never reported the firewall being off.
When I used to use BD Total Security 2012 though this used to happen in the network activity log from time to time aswell.
I'm just wondering if this is normal or if my firewall is somehow being disabled by a hacker.
Any info on this is greatly appreciated.

Mine does the same thing so I wouldn't worry about it. The first time I saw that I messed around and noticed if I turn it off then back on I will get another set of disabled but then get enabled. Also I checked mine while writing this and it showed disabled (although I know its not). Turned it off then back on and I get this
[bDFW] [DEVIO] Firewall disabled. ----this is what is was before I actually disabled it
this is what happens when I disable & enable
[NDISLIB] Filter disabled.
[bDFW] [DEVIO] Firewall disabled.
[NDISLIB] Filter enabled.
[bDFW] [DEVIO] Firewall enabled.
I think it just messes up and doesn't always write when it enables, either way it does this everyday but the firewall is still up and running (tested firewall while log stated disabled)0 -
Nice to know this is just an idiosyncrasy of BD and it probably happens for all BD users. Thanks very much Stagnant.

Thanks Georgia. I'm already using a BD 2013 product and was just refering to how it seems to have the same habit that the 2012 product I was using had, but if you mean this is the second version this year then I'll be downloading it, so I'll check the link just incase.
Other than a couple of other minor things like this though BD is great in my opinion.0 -
