  • Dear deluxxxe666,

Boot your pc into safe mode by pressing the F8 button several times before the windows loading screen. Log in with your account now go to start, right click on my computer choose properties, press on the advanced tab, click on settings under the startup (boot) and recovery settings under system errors section uncheck the latest option. Under errordumps select minidump now press on ok. Instead of rebooting normally you should see a blue screen note the error message and also what caused. The file or service that might caused will be displayed in the right corner e.g nvidia.dll.

I never had that rebooting issue.

    Best regards

  • Niels... Thanks so much for your help... Wondering if you can help me further.. This is getting weird!

Ok, So rather than rebooting I now get the blue screen and I first got the msg that ialmrnt5.dll was causing the problem, then I got that igxprd32 was causing the problem. These seem to be related to my video drivers (an intel chipset, so I think it may be the video card which is part of my motherboard????)

ANYWAY... I downloaded and installed the latest drivers for it from the manufacterer's website (Lenovo aka IBM) That didnt help much as the ialmrnt5 error went away and the igxprd32 error appeared.

I decided to deleted both of these files (in windows/system32 folder) to see what happens (backed them up though in case I need them) Now My computer boot_s up but the display is ALL SCREWED UP! I get a 480 screen size (not even 800x600) and ONLY 4 colors.... BUT THE COMPUTER boot_s UP!

Im at a loss what to do next!!! Im considering formating the harddrive and starting from scratch.. can you suggest ANYTHING or at least POINT me in the right direction?

There's no documentation on Lenovo's site regarding these errors, and googling it I see only people playing "World of WarCraft" or other games have this similar DLL problems. This isnt a gaming machine, but I re-installed DirectX anyway...

    HELP!

  • Hello deluxxxe666,

Try to uninstall completely your video card, and reinstall it.

For this, right click on My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager, find your video card (it should be under Display Adapters), right click on it and select Uninstall.

After that, reboot your computer. After reboot, Windows should detect again your graphic chipset, initially as Default VGA Adapter, and ask you to install drivers. Then you should install the drivers for it. You should try with the latest drivers from the website. If they don't work, repeat the Uninstall procedure and install the original drivers, which came on your Graphic Card/Motherboard CD/DVD when you bought the computer.

  • CRIS.....

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!

    Im ALMOST there....

Here's what happened so far.. did as you suggested and it worked. It used whatever generic VGA drivers and the pc booted....

DVD and mpeg/Avi play back was HORRIBLE though...

I so downloaded and installed the drivers from the manufacturer's website, and installed them.... THE PROBLEM CAME RIGHT BACK!

WTF???? Ive had this Pc for like 2 years and never had this problem! I installed a Maxtor Onetouch4 mini USB harddrive and updated BitDefender and I got this problem...

So what can I do now?

I can either use generic VGA drivers or I can buy a new Video Card??!?

  • So I tried downloading the NEWEST drivers from intel's website... same problem.

I tried the older version of the drivers... same problem!

Im ready to take a hammer to this thing!!!!

  • WOuld just buying a chea.p new video card solve my problem?!?!?!?

  • Case closed!!!!

I went out and spent $90 on a new video card....

Unsure WHAT BD did (or to be fair if it was even BD) but Installing a new videocard solved this problem....

    Hope this helps SOMEONE!

  • I have the exact same problem, however sometimes it will randomly load but then anti-virus will not scan. It was fine yesterday and never did this until I installed BitDefender.

I know it is a driver error but it seems to be conflicting with BD....

  • Still had this problem even after I reinstalled drivers and reverted back to older ones.

I decided to uninstall BD for now and the problem went away. I then reinstalled BD and the problem came back.....

For now I'm not touching BD as long as this continues...
