I have bitdefender internet security 2015 and whenever I turn on my computer the "Block internet connection sharing" option is turned on. I always have to disable it before the connection works.

What should I do????

    Hi Tejan,

    Welcome on the forum,

Well... I'm far from my family's BD IS 2015 version this morning to help thoroughly...

    I'd just suggest:

    create a firewall zone

    or the general:

    total security functionnality

    does it help?

I see something else on this topic.

    block internet

You could check on the topic, maybe you'll find the right answer?

Please give information on your system in your profile or your signature, it could help.

    Regards,

  • Thank-You Lionet!!

It worked and I now dont have to disable the option after every restart

  • If it's not too much to ask, may I ask if this is really the default? Like BD firewall will block Internet Connection Sharing? 1.gif

    Hello, this should not happen.

What operating system do you have? Can you please run this diagnostic tool and attach the output to your reply?

    http://www.bitdefender.com/diagnostic

  • i ve that problem too and it happens when i ve installed last windows 10 update (Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3081424)) so i turned off bitdefenders firewall and i am using windows firewall. Solve this problem please.

  • Hello NecROlanD and welcome to the forums,

To help Bitdefender sort this out could you please run the diagnostic tool (found in the post from Georgia above yours). It only takes a few minutes. :)

    Thanks.

i am sorry for bad English.

Maybe I was being a bit optimistic when I said " It only takes a few minutes." <img class=" />

  • is your problem started with the last windows 10 update ?

  • I never have had the problem but I have seen others like yourself with it. The only way to get it sorted is to report it to Bitdefender so their team can make the necessary adjustments to the program. My Windows 10 with BD TS runs fine.

    Ro.

  • actually mine problem is different. after i installed last windows 10 update mine internet gone totally. i cannot connect to internet untill i turn off the BD Firewall. i am using windows fw for 3 days.

A number of people have had problems with Windows 10 as a result of the most recent update. A lot of these problems are due to UPGRADING to Windows 10 rather than doing a clean install. If you did an upgrade to Windows 10 my suggestion is to do a clean install using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool. With it you can

    1. Create a bootable USB drive with Windows 10

    2. Create a bootable DVD drive with Windows 10

    3. Install Windows 10 directly

While a clean install may be a pain initially, in the long run it saves a lot of headaches.

If you decide to do a clean install you can choose to keep your Windows user data and apps or keep nothing. Again to make it a completely clean install I suggest "keep nothing" If you decide to go this route make sure to copy all personal files off of the system drive 'C" is most cases. Make sure to copy them to some safe place off of the system drive. You can then if you desire copy them back on the "C" drive after the installation is complete. However, my suggestion is to never keep personal files on drive C but rather on another drive. In anycase if you choose to keep nothing you wil needl to reinstall all your apps from Windows Store and desktop apps from 3rd parties. So make sure to have all the software license data handy to enter it when you reinstall the apps that require licenses to run in the pro or premium version. Caveat. I have never purchased an app from the Windows Store so I don't know how that works on a clean install if you choose to keep nothing.

I am having the same exact issue. I upgraded Bitdefender post the Windows 10 installation as the system recommended last week and have had no issues. The Windows cumulative update was installed this morning and immediately after the restart there was no internet connection (ethernet). Settings and everything check out. Only after I disable the Bitdefender Total Security 2015 firewall does the connection return. Although there are no rules listed I tried a reset and turned the fw back on only to loose connection again. I started the BD tool as others have mentioned but didn't have all creation to wait for it. Emailed a support ticket and like NecROlanD am running Windows fw in the pinch.

The main concern that I have is that if the BD fw is blocking anything, shouldn't I be able to get an indication of everything being blocked somewhere in the program? I understand the current issue is an MS+BD thing likely but blocking is blocking right. Hope there's a fix by BD soon as I prefer BD fw.

  • I would suggest getting this fixed fast. Countless people have suddenly lost internet for unclear reasons. I suspect only a few figured out that it was the BD firewall and how to disable it. I can only imagine their reaction when they discover from the local PC repair shop that it was the BD firewall...
