Antivirus Plus & Xp Problems
I am not sure which forum to post this in because I am having so many different issues with Antivirus Plus 2015 and a machine running XP.
I purchased a 3 computer license 1 day after the old one expired. When I tried to enter the license code on the XP machine, it told me my code was not valid.
To make a long story short, I have since called customer service twice [why is there no 1-800#?], emailed support 5 times, run the tools they emailed me twice, attempted to repair the installation twice, and reinstalled the program so many times I have lost track. In one email from support, they told me to try things that I had reported to them I had already tried in the email they were responding to.
After all this, I am still having these issues:
1] When I try to enter my license, the program tells me it is already entered, yet the amount of days left is 30 and the code does not appear in the box where it is supposed to be. The program updates but the 30 days remains.
2] When I try to log in to MyBitdefender through the program interface, it tells me the operation has timed out as soon as I click before it has even had time to try to connect. This is an improvement over it telling me that I was not connected to the internet when I was.
3] When I try email support from the Bitdefender home page, it doesn't work - and this was on a computer running Windows 7.
4] I tried twice last night, using 2 different @embarqmail.com addresses, to register on this forum site. I never received the necessary email in order to complete registration. I had to use a gmail address to have it work. Why don't the embarqmail addresses work for support but not the forum.
5] When I tried to chat with support from the Windows 7 machine, I was told there was no one available.
6] I talked with support and emailed them twice yesterday and have received no response. Did they really not rely, & why, or is this another issue with Bitdefender and the embarq emails?
I am really fed up at this point. I purchased a product they cannot get to work on my computer. I did every thing they told me to, at least twice, and none of it worked. I have even downloaded the program again twice, once from a link listed on the forum.
Any help would be appreciated. I would hate to have to spend even more money calling customer support to see what is going on.

Follow up:
When I log on to MyBitdefender.com through a browser instead of through the program interface, it tells me that the subscription has expired on my XP machine, even though the interface also tells me the license code has been entered.
I finally got around to trying to enter the license code on my second XP machine. When I did, I got this error message: The registration problem encountered an error. Please restart your computer and try again. If the problems persists, please contact the Bitdefender Customer Care department.
Oh right. because that has been so helpful so far.
That message by the way, is different from any of the other ones of the other XP machine.0 -
Update:
I just heard from support by email. They say the problem is that my processor is only 1.64 Ghz and 2015 will not work [even though it worked fine for over a year]. They recommend I go to version 2010.
I tried to upload a screenshot of the My Computer properties here that shows my processor is 3.00Ghz but it did not work. I did send that screenshot to support.0
