  • Hello Koshy,

You can use weekly.exe for BitDefender Internet Security. But because you didn't give any other details about your version (v10/v11, 32/64bit), all I can give you is this link: http://www.bitdefender.com/site/view/Deskt...ts-Updates.html

The Plugins folder contains the files that contain the virus signatures and detection/cleaning rules. The same files are included in the cumulative.zip archive (so both that folder and the archive are the same thing).

cumulative.zip contains the hole virus database. If you never updated BitDefender, then you need this archive before running weekly.zip. How to install the files from this archive.

After you installed cumulative.zip, just download and run weekly.exe. If you already used this update, you need to run it again after you apply cumulative.zip.

    5. av32bit_4904

    6. av32bit_4918 and

You said that you are using BitDefender v9, so I gave you instructions for BDv9. BD2008 has a different folder structure, and works differently.

Next time, please be careful about what versions you say you are using, because might get in more trouble if you try to apply something that is for a different version.

For BitDefender 2008, it's a little more complicated, because SelfProtection doesn't allow you to overwrite BitDefender files. So you have to follow these steps:

    - download cumulative.zip (you already done this)

    - download weekly.exe from here: http://download.bitdefender.com/updates/bitdefender_2008/ This is a different version than the weekly.exe that you downloaded. Delete that file, and download a new one. Select the version that you need (x96 for 32 bit operating systems, or x64 for 64bit operating systems)

    - reboot your computer in SafeMode, by restarting your computer and keeping pressed F8. When the Boot Menu appears, choose SafeMode. Note: In SafeMode, the internet connection is not working. So it might be a good idea to save (or print) these instructions, so that you can access them offline.

    - go to C:/Program Files/Common File/ BitDefender/BitDefender Threat Scanner/. There, delete all folders except:

    av32bit_4918

    av32bit_4919

    - unpack the files from cumulative.zip in the folder av32bit_4919/plugins. (it might be a good idea to back up everything that you delete/replace, in case that you do something wrong and have to revert to the old version)

    - reboot your computer normally, and then run weekly.exe

    - reboot again

    Now BitDefender should be updated.

Note that these updates only offer signature and engine updates ONLY! Product updates, which fix bugs and add new features are not available for download. You can only get them through LiveUpdate

    See the image attached

    /applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=1806" data-fileid="1806" rel="">screen_shot_1.bmp

I updated in net still the same.

    /applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=1807" data-fileid="1807" rel="">after_updation.bmp

When I deleted the folders as you said there were some files out side all of that folders (I haven’t deleted those files)

All the deleted folders are saved in another location
