CPU 99% when running a system scan

Hi,
I have installed the latest Bitdefender free version (1.0.5.12) on my system. Everything is OK except system scan: it uses up to 99% of my CPU. This is a serious issue, isn't it?
I have installed no other antivirus software on my system before, so there is absolutely no incompatibility.
My system configuration:
CPU: Intel core i3 6100
Motherboard: Asus H110m-D
RAM Kingston 8Gb
Samsung SSD 850 Evo 120Gb
My computer is running Windows 10 Pro 1607 with all the latest updates installed.

I'm seeing the same thing on my Windows 10 tablet with a Bay Trail Atom quad core CPU. The scan is fast though and I'm not sure if it's a concern or not.0
