Bitdefender update

I have recently purchased bitdefender total security and my friend had dowloaded a trial version of bitdefender total security in his computer. So are we both getting the same updates. Is there any difference in updates between a paid user and trial user?.

Next I want to ask one thing, Actually how much data does a normal update cost?
