Exclusions for real-time scanning only
Being new to Bitdefender coming from using Avast for many years, I have a question on exclusions.
If I create a file or folder exclusion, will that exclude the selected files and/or folders both during real-time scanning as well as manual scans?
Reason for my question is I have a number of folders I don't want to include in real-time scanning to ensure maximum performance whenever those files and folders are accessed. However, I do like to have them scanned when I perform a full manual scan of my system which I usually do on a weekly basis.

Sorry, didn't realize it was the free version, someone else will have to help you.

Maybe it's not possible in the free version.
Right now I'm just evaluating Bitdefender but if I like it in the end, I have no issues paying for it to unlock additional features.0 -
lol...if you were using the AV+ I had such a good answer for you (as you may have seen from that brief period before I edited my above post). Here is what you would be able to do with that version as far as exclusions: https://www.bitdefender.com/support/adding-exclusions-in-bitdefender-2018-2094.html
I understand though, as in the past I've used another vendors free version, Avira, for years. If you were ever thinking of trying the AV+, that option is included in the AV+ link.

Thanks, will do some comparison and see what I end up with.0 -
In Bitdefender Antivirus Free the exclusions apply to both types of scans automatically. You cannot differentiate between on-access and on-demand scans .
I will make a request for our developers to add this functionality, which is present in our other products (such as Antivirus Plus mentioned above).0 -
Already bought the payware version so not a problem anymore but thanks anyway0
