BitDefender shuts down without warning

I suddenly found that BitDefender Free shut down without any notice to me. I could not restart it until I rebooted my computer and then it reactivated.
I note that an update was succesfully installed on November 1, 2018.
What could have caused this stoppage and why was there any notification?

Hi,
Normally you should see in the system tray or the interface, that Bitdefender services are not responding. Unless a service actually crashes there wouldn't be a specific notification (mostly because the services that could deliver the notification are down). Of course this is not a usual occurrence.0
