Unable to Temporarily Disable Virus Shield on Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition (UAC)
Windows 10 x64 v1803 (I am logged in with an Administrator Account)
Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition v1.021.1109
Recently, I have been unable to temporarily disable Virus Shield (Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition) as a screen pops up informing me "This application has been blocked for your protection - elevator.exe" whenever I try to slide the Virus Shield switch to the OFF position. Please see image below for further details...
Could someone help me please? Thank you.

You have an older version of Bitdefender Antivirus Free, which is no longer supported. To get the latest version please follow these steps:
1. Press start button and type appwiz.cpl , then press Enter
2. You'll be redirected to Programs and Features in the Control Panel, here uninstall Bitdefender Antivirus Free
- restart PC when done
3. Download the latest version of Bitdefender Antivirus Free from here:

After some more Google-ing, I've discovered that disabling User Account Control (UAC) via Regedit allows me to turn Virus Shield OFF/ON like it used to.
SOLUTION:
1) Launch REGEDIT as Administrator
2) Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
3) Change EnableLUA from 1 to 0
4) Restart PC

Hi,
I wouldn't recommend that. You're allowing by default some apps with expired/untrusted certificates to run on your PC, which is not safe at all.
