Bitdefender Changes The Sleep Setting Of My PC. Any Help?

Bitdefender sets my PC's sleep setting to "never". This happens when the "gaming" profile is activated.

I tried disabling the setting "Adjust power plan settings for games" but the setting keeps turning on (and the PC stays awake even when I am not using it).

Is there a solution to that? It seems like a bug.

If there is no fix, I will have to disable "profiles" all together.

PS. Ironically, the computer does go to sleep when running a full system scan. Bitdefender should prevent sleep mode when a scan is active.

    Hello.

It is a bug in the Bitdefender program.

Few months ago, i accidentally activated/enabled the Game Profile. I did everything, but nothing helped, the Game Profile was still activated/enabled. Unfortunately, i had to uninstall / reinstall the Bitdefender Total Security program and that solved the issue, since then the Game Profile is not activated/enabled.

So, you can do Step 1 and try if that solves the issue.

Or you can skip directly to Step 2 and believe me the issue will be solved.

    -- STEP 1 --

Repair Bitdefender, by following these steps:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/13429/

    -- STEP 2 --

If the instructions from Step 1 didn't help, uninstall the Bitdefender program using the Uninstall Tool.

For Bitdefender Paid version click here:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/links/uninstall_consumer_paid.html

For Bitdefender Trial version click here:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/links/uninstall_consumer_trial.html

It will completely remove the program.

Next, reinstall Bitdefender from your Bitdefender Central account and see if the issue has been solved, as reinstalling the program usually solves the issues.

    -- STEP 3 --

If the instructions from Step 2 didn't help, follow the instructions in this step.

First, take screenshot(s) of the issue

and create a log file on your Windows device using Bitdefender Support Tool, by following these steps:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/1733/

Next, contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by e-mail:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/help/

with short description of the issue.

After that, you will get an automated reply by the Bitdefender Customer Care Team, with your ticket number.

Now, in reply to that automated reply, you can send the screenshot(s) you already took and the log file you already created in the first step.

Since you are all done, just wait for the support engineers to investigate your issue and find a solution to fix the issue.

Remember that the screenshot(s) and the log file will help a lot to the support engineers for better and faster investigation on your issue and finding a solution.

    Regards.

    Hi Gjoksi,

Since I very recently made a clean installation of Bitdefender, I am not trying this again. I made a log file and submitted it with a support request. Thanks for your suggestions.

    Kind Regards,

    John

Update: I could not upload the log file because of its size... The reCAPTCHA check expires before the file is uploaded so it cannot be submitted. And because it is still uploading, I cannot click on the reCAPTCHA.

    Hello again.

In that case, you should contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by chat:

Tell them that you want to submit a ticket and that you have 1 file or 2 files to submit and its / their size exceeds 25 MB.

The Support Agent will provide you with an alternative upload location, where you can upload the files(s) larger than 25 MB.

Keep in mind that only technical support engineer can provide you the location with detailed explenation how to upload the file(s) on that location.

    Regards.
