    Hi,

Unfortunately, I think it's gone and there's no way to bring it back..

Backups are the best prevention for these scenarios. You can use them to recover copies of files if you have deleted them from your system.

    Hi @hwmpg

Are you talking about a folder in File Explorer, like in your Documents, Pictures etc. Or, one that was deleted from Bitdefender quarantine?

How was it deleted, by Bitdefender File Shredder or a right-click delete?

This could help us to know if it's possible to recover that folder. If you use an app like Dropbox, folders stored there that have been deleted are saved for up to 30 days.

    Kind regards,

    Hello.

Bitdefender's File Shredder permanently and irrecoverably deletes files/folders.

That is why it is important to use back-up cloud storage services, like Google Drive, Dropbox etc.

    Regards.

  • It was deleted by right click.

The deleted folder was inside a couple other folders that were stored on the desktop.

    Thank you for the help

Edited post in regards to re-reading the thread title better ;) :)

    Regarding Bitdefender File Shredder:

When you delete a file, it can no longer be accessed through normal means. However, the file continues to be stored on the hard disk until it is over-written when copying new files. The Bitdefender File Shredder helps you permanently delete data by physically removing it from your hard disk.

So it doesn't send the folder to the Recycle Bin, but shreds it "in place."

With that being said, I'm not sure if this would be worth a shot of any recovery, except if the folder was backed up online or to another device.

    Kind regards,

    Scott
