How to get Bitdefender running after resetting Windows ?

I have Dell XPS 17, wth BitDefender Total Security (BTS), Windows 10

I recently had to re-install Windows.

Everthing is back to normal - except BTS. There are no entries in Task Manager.

I can see here:

Says

  • Device "Desktop-*****T1" is protected.
  • Apps Installed:  BTS

No threats detected in last 7 days (Not surprising)

My sub runs till May 15th, 2024.

How can I restore BTS to a verifiable working configuration ?

Is there a test? For example, EICAR ?

Thanks

    .@Flexx:

Many thanks for your very detailed response.

    I found a 1-click Uninstall process here.

    https://www.bitdefender.com/links/uninstall_consumer_paid.html?

And a 1-click Install in my BitDefender Dashboard.

    So everything is now OK.

BTW: For the users who might prefer to use your procedure, it might be a good idea to mention that they need 2 computers to implement your instructions:

    • The computer on which BitDefender is to be installed. (There's no way to read the instructions on this computer, IMO)
    • A second computer to show your page of instructions.

    Thanks
