My experience with the latest build 27.0.30.136 of Bitdefender is that the autoscan settings are reset to the following values every time. See screenshot below.

However, the settings should remain with the previously selected changes after restarting the system as can be seen below.

The same error already occurred in the previous version.

I just see that the my scan engine is a little bit newer than yours. Engine version 7.96555 to 7.96553. Initiate an update again and check the scan engine version afterwards.

Just got an other update for Bitdefender and I recognize that the version of the scan engine has climbed to build 7.96556. I didn't know by now that after each malware definition update the version of the scan engine encreases. Never realized that before.

I got build 27.0.38.163 two hours ago. A device restart was not necessary to take the changes in effect, but it took a while until the update was installed. Thus, be patient and don't stop the update process until it runs completely through.

It's just a shame that during the update the Windows notification appears warning you that the device is not safe, when in reality this is not the case because the basic security components of Bitedefender remain active during the update.
This Windows notification sends users into "panic", especially the less experienced ones.
You should make sure that this Windows notification when updating Bitdefender does not appear in my opinion.
I know I've asked this other times, but in my opinion it's important that this implementation is done.

I think he's talking about the version/build that gets downloaded from Central when we do a install, or reinstall, that it's never the current version, but the previous one. So then it has to catch up to the newest build a day or two later, including what could be the long install pause at 84%. But, I could be absolutely wrong and have just said a lot for nothing 😅

That depends if there are kits published or not. These are not build (officially) for every update, at least not immediately. It's similar with Windows Update (or any other update) - one can get multiple update items, but there is no Windows version for each and every one of them.

A new build update rolled out today. It hasn't hit me yet, so I'm not sure if it will require a restart.

Bitdefender’s most recent version number is 27.0.40.169 and was released on June 27, 2024.

The latest major build 27.0.40.173 update was released on 09.07.2024, but I am still on build 27.0.40.169. I tried to update manually, but the build version is not updating to the latest build version. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the application, but I still do not have the latest build. Bitdefender product updates are released in batches. Uninstalling and reinstalling won't always give you the latest version immediately. You'll have to wait for the product update, and there's no set timeline for when it will arrive. Rest assured, you will get the product update sooner or later. For malware signatures, you will always receive the latest ones.
