Can I install Bitdefender using a thumb drive

My MIL mistakenly gave hackers overnight remote access to her computer. It had BitDefender installed. I have disconnected the computer from the internet, but I am not sure that the hackers did anything to the BitDefender software. I'd like to remove the software and reinstall a new copy from a thumb drive (avoiding the internet until I scan the computer with a new version of BitDefender). Is this possible? Thanks for your help!

    Hi @JerryC

You could download the offline installer to a flash drive but, you would not be able to install it without a internet connection. Bitdefender need to connect to our Central accounts to sync with it, and the installed version on our devices. I would consider the disclaimers in this post as far as the offline installer:

Run a System scan, and see how Bitdefender preforms and if it finds anything. Or, you could also run a Rescue Environment scan as well for peace of mind.

How to disinfect your PC from outside Windows with Bitdefender Rescue Environment

Rescue Environment is a Bitdefender feature that allows you to scan and remove stubborn threats that cannot be eliminated while the operating system is running. Advanced malware can camouflage itself among other legitimate processes running onto the system, which dramatically increases discovery and disinfection times. Rootkits – for example – are designed to conceal their presence and need to be removed before Windows starts.

    Kind regards.
