What a mess after I installed BitDefender

I Bought Bitdefender for my company.

Was this an error? That's what I think today.

Why did I do that? I had to renew my current protection and I looked on the Internet which was the best product on the marked now. And it seemed to be good, very good even.

But the result is catastrophic.

Teams doesn't start anymore (75% of my work time is on team, but I can use teams on web).

A lot of websites, that I was using before, can't be reached anymore (IP address not found, DNS problems, Certificate problems).

Why does BitDefender blocks websites that are ligitimate? Why? Why? Why?

If I read well the comments on different blogs about people having the same troubles, I will need to pass hours, hours, days, to vcreate logs, make print screens, deinstall Bitdefender, reinstall bitdefender, and all this for nothing, because in fact Bitdefender dopes not solve the problem at all.

I think I just lost money.

I will deinstall forever, and search for me and my company, a real professionnal tool.

    I'm sorry to hear this and I regret this was your first experience with Bitdefender. Obviously, this is not the expected behavior and I think what you are describing has to do with a known issue which involves the Encrypted web scan feature. Should you still have Bitdefender installed on your devices, open the app and go to Protection → Online Threat Prevention → Settings → turn OFF Encrypted web scan temporarily and check if you can now acces the usual pages and apps. This is just a workaround, until the developers come with a fix.

  • I am having the same issue. It seem this thing blocks every single website. This is a horrendous experience and needs to be fixed now.

    I disabled what you asked above. I added the site to the list to bypass VPN and Security but it still does not work. What it actually does and it did it with my Bank is that it lets you get to the Website and then once you enter ID and Password, it says not correct.

    The Bank finally worked but this other one is not working despite me doing the same thing to this URL.

    Please help. I need secure from outside threats. Most sites these days track you no matter what and they want to know if you are a threat to them and if they do not get a response they do not let you in.

    Kaspersky was the best protection we had for decades and never had an issue with a threat or accessing a website.

    First, can you tell us what Bitdefender version you have? Is Bitdefender blocking all sites, or just a particular one and is this also a banking website? Is the VPN enabled? Secondly, can you confirm if you've followed the steps from the below articles?
