Hi,
I have also created a vault that I now realise is not where I want it. How do I move it or delete it so that I can creat a vault in the correct location?
BrendanHi,
I have created a Vault, but i was wondering weather it is possible to delete the vault again and how?
Regards.

Hello Brendan Cuffe,
Be sure that before removing the file vault you back-up the files you have put there. To do open BitDefender switch to advanced view go to the encryption section click on the file vault tab. Right click on the vault you created and select open enter your password now go to my computer there you will find the vault with the assigned drive letter copy and paste your files. To delete a vault go to the location where you have saved the .bvd file right click on it and press delete. Now go back to file vault once you have opened BitDefender and press on the refresh button. Now you can make a new file vault.
Kind regards,

Thanks for the help. Initially it told me that I couldn't delete the vault as it was open in another program, but once I unchecked "file vault is enabled", it deleted fine.

Hello Brendan Cuffe,
Normally when you didn't have opened you virtual drive letter you could have deleted your current vault without unchecking enable file vault. You are welcome.

Neils,
Having got my first vault deleted, I set about creating a new one and not paying attention to what I was doing, created a vault that was too small for the file I was trying to encrypt, so I deleted it again.
Now however when I create a vault I have the following problem
Vault called Private created and shown as c:\Users\Brendan\Private.bvd in the BitDefender file vault window in advanced view. I can open the vault (assigned drive letter F) using its password and I can see the files inside the vault in the BitDefender vault window, but if I click on the Private icon in documents it won't let me see the files in the vault and asks me for the password (which I don't know - but did try password for F without success) to open the vault file with drive path G. I am confused, what am I doing wrong? I attach a few files that my assist and thanks for your help so far.
Currently I have all file vaults deleted.

Hello Brendan Cuffe,
Double click on the vault file you created now by drive letter select the drive letter that you used for creating your vault when you made it when you have opened BitDefendder and now enter that password that should work.

I have also created a vault that I now realise is not where I want it. How do I move it or delete it so that I can creat a vault in the correct location?
I realize that this question has been answered already, but the simplest way to move a vault is to just find the .bdv file and move it wherever you want it. The vaults are not locked to the location where they were created, so they can be moved around as you like (you can even take them to another computer, as far as I know).
After you move the bdv file, you have to make it show up in BitDefender's list. For this, go to Encryption -> File Vault and click Search (the last button, with a magnifier, above-right the vault list), search the bdv file (the new location, where you moved it), and click Open. After that, use the vault as normal.
This way, no file backup is needed, nor you have to delete/re-create the vault.
