You can use the same registration key with the 2008 version:

And if your new computer has 1GB of Ram,you can use without any problem BitDefender 2009.

Sorry,your key is valid for all new versions of BitDefender,but for the same edition,for example:
BitDefender Internet Security 10->BitDefender Internet Security 2008,but no BitDefender Total Security0 -
