Welcome to the new world of Bit Defender : "False Positive Land" !

Does your system work correctly ?

  • Same exact thing happened to me.

Although somehow it hung in the process and I had to reboot the machine. After that my Vista installation was dead. I even could not Repair it because it couldn't find an existing windows installation to repair. Something major was damaged.

Nice one BD! <img class=" /> I even updated the SP2 through the BitDefender interface.

I'm am currently performing a new install of Vista. I've been pretty happy with BD until this BS. I just lost about two weeks of evenings and a weekend to reinstall and recover everything.

  • I had the same problem as Slab Hardcheese, but managed to get past the Vista SP2 installation. Essentially I pulled out the drive, moved the quarantined files back into their original directory and restarted.

I have more detailed instructions on how to do this on my blog:

    Hope that helps :)

I had the same issues as the two previous posts. I ended up restoring vista sp1 from the recovery disc, but of course all my settings and installed programs were wiped. Should I/can I turn bitdefender off before downloading and installing sp2 so the install will go properly? If I turn bitdefender back on after the update will it try again to quarantine those files and create more problems? I really am not good at this stuff and don't want to go through that again any time soon? Any helpful advise is appreciated :)
