Remote Desktop Windows 7 Not Possible

Options

Hello,

I'm trying tot setup BitDefender Total Security 2010 under Windows 7 64bit.

I keep having problems connecting to the PC using RDP from a PC outside my network.

I've already changed the settings for my network adapter to Trusted Local, Stealth Off, Generic Profile Yes.

I'm able to connect from a PC within my network.

With Vista / TS 2009 I did not have any problems.

And with the Firewall turned off I'm also able to connect.

Any advise in how to get the RDP working?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello Richy,

In order to further investigate this sittuation please browse to the next location : C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2010\Firewall, look after the "rules.xml" and "profiles.xml" files, upload them on http://www.sendspace.com/ and post here the download links after that .

Also, please follow the steps bellow :

    1. Open My Computer.

    2. Browse to

    C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2010

    - considering that BitDefender was installed on the default C partition

    3. Doubleclick on the supporttool.exe file .(in case you have Windows Vista or Windows 7, right click on the the supporttool.exe file and choose "Run as administrator" )

    4. Click on Next, wait a few minutes for the progress bar to complete and then click on Finish .

    5. Go to the desktop, upload the report on http://www.sendspace.com/ then send me a PM with the download link or reply to our email with the report attached .

We are looking forward to your reply.

    Thank you.

  • I've fixed the problem by adding an extra rule for the RDP port.

I can now connect from outside the network.

Can you please post the solution steps? I am having the same problem. I added RDP rule to allow port 3389 but it doesn't work. Thank you.

nvm I figured it out searching old forums. The solution comes from:

    "Berneanu Cristian

Make sure you selected 3389 for local port and 1024-65535 for remote ports in the rule created and move the rule on top of the list."
