How Do I Configure Bd Ts For Emule Tcp And Udp Ports

How to configure BitDefender Total Security 2010 to allow traffic only through a specific TCP port and a specific UDP Port.


I have done this:

In the above picture where it says No in the Local column I later reconfigured it to have Yes displayed but still, Bit Defender Firewall Alert keeps poping up.


With instances like this:

If I choose to Block it, NO traffic is allowed using eMule.


From the 1st picture, I see nothing wrong with the way I configured it. So why do I still get BitDefender Firewall poping up asking me to Allow or Block traffic that should as far as I can see not be allowed to even come in on other ports.

    This forum is a piece of CRAP.... I went to edit my previous post using quick edit and then I selected Completed Edit and then it just hung there and did Nothing. I then selected Complete Edit.. and then it bailed on me. NO WAY TO EDIT POSTS. THIS ######....

    eMule is one of the biggest P2P clients out there, yet I cannot find any help for setting up the TCP and UDP specific ports that I want this program to have access to.... NOT ALL PORTS.... WHERE IS THE HELP FOR THIS.

    IS IT AT ALL POSSIBLE FOR BitDefender to be configured to allow traffic in and out through only 1 TCP port and 1 UDP port?


    The reason why I'm asking is because will ALL Ports open, I get emule traffic coming in on virtually any port. I don't want this. Too much traffic comes in on ports that I don't want and it causes my Router/modem to suddenly disconnect from the internet. Whereby, it has to reconnect to the ISP to get a new IP.


    With emule running (All Ports are Now open for eMule).


    At command prompt if I type -netstate -no


    I can see connections being established on ports other than those which I have told eMule to use:


    TCP Port: 48532 and


    UDP Port: 48534

    At the time I ran netstat -no using the command prompt, I only had a total of 9 visible


    connections in emule. 5 of them were for downloads and 4 were for uploads.


    Yet in the above, 15 connections have been established on many other ports other than


    either 48532 for TCP or 48534 for UDP and now only 8 of established connections appear


    on port 48532.


    I want this to stop happening. It is killing my connection. If I open Event Viewer and go


    to System there are way too many Warning messages about:


    TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts.


    When this starts happening, My connection to my ISP gets dropped.

    If using a router, just set emule under port range forwarding. Then it should only allow traffic through the ports you set.

    I've waited long enough for a reply to this issue.


    Seeing as how I didn't get one, I can assume that BD Total Security cannot be configure as I would like so that emule only gets traffic coming in and out of a predetermined UDP and TCP port of my choosing.


    Therefore, I'm going to GET RID OF THIS PIECE OF CRAP. Ghost my basic image back onto my computer without security software and install my freshly bought new copy of Norton 2010 instead.... Take this piece of crap and stick it you know where....


    NORTON at least offers iformation on viruses detected unlike this... There help is not that great either, but in all the time I've used Norton in prior years, I never once had any problems with it where I would need help. With this product it is totally reversed.

    I've done that long ago, so that emule uses TCP Port 48532 and UDP Port 48534. That still doesn't answer my questions about setting the UDP port and TCP port in Bit Defender. And as you can see from my post above yours, that I'm still getting ESTABLISHED connections on ports other than those I would like. Specificly; traffic and established connections as far as I can see should only be made to the TCP Port 48532 and the UDP Port 48534... Where in the post above yours it shows that connections are being made/established to other unwanted ports.... I want this to stop.
