Team Fortress 2 Now Has Unbearable Lag
I play games on my computer and I had bitdefender 2008. I had no problems with any of my games, and latency is not an issue. I doublechecked that. Team Fortress 2 is now unplayable because it is skipping and slowing down immensely and I know why. Your program is a immense resource hog and I have no available memory left because it ###### it all up. I have 4 gigs of ram total, but now its all used.
Please tell me what I have to give you to resolve this issue, or I want a full refund for your product. I paid 90 dollars for this, and I want it to work. Don't tell me to use game mode in order to play the game. Why should I have to put myself at risk just to have your product work. I never used game mode in any games with 2008, I never had to.

Hello Juvantei,
Please follow the steps bellow and send us the diagnostic reports from the support tool in order to be able to analyze them and provide you with a solution:
1. Open My Computer/Computer.
2. Browse to
C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2010
- considering that BitDefender was installed on the default C partition
3. Doubleclick on the supporttool.exe file .(in case you have Windows Vista or Windows 7, right click on the the supporttool.exe file and choose 'Run as administrator' )
4. Click on Next, wait a few minutes for the progress bar to complete and then click on Finish .
5. Go to the desktop, upload the report on http://www.sendspace.com/ then send me a PM with the download link or reply to our email with the report attached .

What have you done to check that BitDefender is the cause. Before blaming BitDefender make sure:
(1) Its not your internet connection - remember that usually when it says up to e.g. up to 8mb - you get less and the more people using it in your home will reduce the speed. If its a peak time it may also be slower.
(2) You don't have any programs running in the background and at startup that you don't need - programs sometimes such as itunes decide to try and have stuff running all the time - when not in use this can cause problems.
(3) Have you got all security features on - for example if you have real protection set to scan every file constantly this can slow stuff down - security suites sadly by nature do stuff that slows them down - you can be secure without having the top settings on.
(4) Sometimes slowdowns and even shut downs can be due to dust build up - my pc was contanslty causing problems and crashing due to large build up of dust especially by the graphics card.0
