Windows Mail Live Email Scan

Hi all,

I've been using Thunderbird for ages but recently had to switch to Windows Mail Live due to problems with my AT&T mail account smpt server not working with Thunderbird. Don't ask. Anyway, I've noticed that I'm not getting a scanning e-mail indicator using windows mail live, althought it should since I'm using Pop and Smpt servers.

Is this just a Windows Mail Live problem or is Bitdefender not scanning the emails? If it is a compatibility issue with Windows Live Mail can can someone suggest an email program, that does work with the secure ssl smtp server that with Bitdefender? I'm really not attached I just want to be able to send mail through my mail client.

Oh, the settings for the server are.

Pop 995 using SSL

Smpt 465 using SSL

Thanks

Dazerla.

Dazerla, I'm not sure if this will be of any interest/help to you, but my provider is AT&T also. I used to use Windows Mail and/or Thunderbird, but I switched to SeaMonkey mail, which uses port 110 for incoming mail and 465 for outgoing mail. My BitDefender AV 2010 does scan incoming mail, as it always pops up a "Bitdefender Scanning Incoming Mail" message when SeaMonkey is receiving mail. I don't really care if BD scans outgoing mail, but I want it to tell me it's scanning incoming mail--and it does! I am also using SSL on both servers. Hope this helps! :)
