Perhaps a bit off-topic, but people are basically good everywhere--there are good Romanians, good Gypsies; good Belgians; good Americans, good Kiwis, etc.! Stereotyping others or calling other populations names doesn't foster good feelings in anyone, as we have observed. For those of us who are interested in following…

Sorry to hear of your concerns! While I can't help you with this, I just thought I'd mention that another forum you can try, in addition to this one, for getting some expert advice is Wilders: EDIT A lot of really expert and highly-experienced posters there who could probably help you with any issues and may even help you…

my BD 2008 suite is even worse on the shields up test. see attachments..... doesnt look good for the settings i have. C.S.J. I have my ICMP settings just like yours, except I don't have the ICS one checked. When I run the ShieldsUp "All Service Ports" scan, as you did, absolutely all of the ports are shown as stealthed.…

There should be an option at firewall settings, which allows you to filter ICMP traffic. Andrei Well, as I should have done before posting, I searched the forum for similar questions and found there is a previous thread about this. It should answer my question about what the different options mean. Thanks anyway!

There should be an option at firewall settings, which allows you to filter ICMP traffic. Andrei Andrei, Thanks for the response. The options shown are "Allow all traffic, block all traffic, or custom." I don't know enough about what these settings actually do. Obviously, "allow all" is the current setting that lets the…

Hello CDR Yes you can. BitDefender 2008 productline isn't yet available for all languages versions so the 10 th product line is still supported. Regards Niels Actually, I decided to re-install the BDIS2008, and, after the initial shock of the GUI, I think it does kind of grow on you, as others have stated. Lots of it…

Hello CDR Did you make a rule for the update module of avg antimalware? I will see if I have the same problem. Other programs updates just fine when http traffic scanning is enabled. Regards Niels Niels, I think that mysterious, unexplained "self-healing" factor must have recently operated, because now when I enable the…

Hello cadillact Normally http traffic scanning can only slow down the speed of the displayed websites but can't cause page not found. It could be a temporary issue on that particular website. Can you please post some links to the forums so I can take a look at it? Regards Niels I'm not sure if this is relevant, but when I…

I also have installed BDIS2008 on my two computers, and I did not see any option to choose which modules are installed. On my computer which is running VISTA Home Premium, I had to uninstall BD, as it was not running well, whereas previously BD AV Plus v. 10 was running quite well.

Hello again, Niels maybe you can also advise on this. Before you helped me yesterday with the installation of the Bit Defender AV Vers 10, I asked for help to Shaun Hartmann at Herman Street Support who was the guy who originally sent me my activation key. He has not replied. Then with your advice I managed to install the…

Good that you solved your problem. Thanks also for posting the solution for others. On my second pc that has outlook express as mailclient I don't have the problem. But every pc configuration is different. That was gladly done. bdss.exe is used for realtime scanning. You can reduce the cpu usage by opening BD go to…
