Could you please post some info about you internet connection . Ex. speed , type etc. I have the same problem.. 2012 edition have too many bugs. I have reported some of them. But BD support never react to those...

This may be a problem because of previous installation. If have replaced Bitdefender 2011 with 2012 version, please not that uninstall process leave some of files of older version.This may cause problem in update..
