Hi James, this old thread should be able to help you out. http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=5037

Maybe there are also a lot of start up programs configured to launch at start up. You might want to check at Run, the msconfig and the start up tab.
-
Are you using this on a VMware? Check for VMnat.exe and see if TCP/IP is allowed.
-
This is really strange. So far, I don't see any BSODs as of late that can be tied to this. Anyways, any update on this yet?
-
We appreciate you being transparent on this. I would also like to give this a try and see how it goes.
-
Seems like a bug really. But I think developers are well aware of it already.
-
So far, there has been no changes from what I see. I would also like to ask if there has been any software modifications on your PC? Or perhaps a new software installation?
-
Hi SG, it would help a lot but when you try to copy files to your D drive, do you get an error message when doing this? A screen shot would be helpful too.
-
I think that this is still in the beta stage. Let's just wait for the stable version.
-
By the way, what safari version do you currently have here?
-
I think you need a separate software for this and I haven't seen one for a phone yet. Is there one by the way?
-
The conversation seems pretty long. Was there a fix for it by any chance?
-
Nice offer you got there for BD Total Security 2013. Is this legit at all?
-
I got 15 notifications telling me that my Bitdefender Total Security can't update itself and mentions error -1017. I didn't use to do that but I reinstalled my Windows and I reinstalled my Bitdefender 2013 too and since the instalation, I can't manage to get it to update. Hi buddy, have you tried reinstalling already? It…
-
Oh, does it go to digitalriver, not with BD for billing issues?
-
Are you logged as an admin on this PC? Also, you might want to try installing this under safe mode. Make sure first that you don't have any security software installed too.
-
Did you wrote 16bit? That's odd. Can you also post the link where you downloaded the installer?
-
I got nothing on top of my head for this buddy, but please update this thread once you get progress.
-
Do you also have some software installed like DeepFreeze that does system restore every time the PC gets rebooted?
-
Try to open up the TCP port manually. Hopefully, it will make a difference.
-
You can possibly check the Windows event viewer to see some logs. By the way, what OS do you currently have?
-
Under the firewall section, under program tab, you should be able to add that software.
-
I think number 3 is the easiest. Opening a TCP or UDP port. However, every application uses different ports.
-
I think you need to be a bit more specific. When you say black list, do you mean black list IPs or softwares?
-
Usually, for issues like this, we can check with the support and ask what ports are used by these services. Then just add them at on the white list.
-
It would also help if you can post the link where you downloaded the installer. Just to make sure. Do you also have a 32 bit or 64 bit OS?
-
Is you key valid with 2013 too? A good option might be to upgrade it as well. Just giving out your options though.
-
Is there a way also that we can still use the 2012 version?
-
Just to make sure if it's BD causing this, have you tried connecting with BD turned off?

Hi, I have Remote Desktop enabled on port 3390 on one PC and 3391 on another. When I try to connect on the LAN, it works perfectly but when I access from my home, I cannot connect. When I disable Bitdefender, then I can connect but when Bitdefender is active it blocks the connection. On LAN it connects even when…
