Requiring the use of the support tool for every situation just seems like really poor support policy. I can understand it's need as a information gathering tool for technical issues, but for payment/billing issues there is simply no reason for such a tool to be used. And it's rather appalling than a person actually…

If I'm reading your post correctly...they wanted you to download and run a support tool in order to help you with cancelling your auto-renewal/subscription? I can't think of any reason why such a request would ever require more than a single message submitted via a web form.
-
Shouldn't that support article have the link to the Avangate/BD account login where the auto-renewal option is? It seems strange that people are immediately sent to customer support contact forms (that I've seen multiple reports of people having difficulties with cancelling through), instead of a page where auto-renewal…

I consider it deliberately - nothing less. Simply because: I asked myself this ... why is it that I bought the product via the BD´s pages, but my purchase was obviously registered, stored and hosted by a company I had no such access to, and on gaining final access I experienced that I had no account registered ? Using a…

I had recently thought to double check that and dug through my old emails to find the link, and to my surprise I was actually due for an autorenewal. I recall seeing the options of it back when I bought BD, in September of 2013. I was aware of the option so it's not something I merely overlooked. That is simply something…

There is a default firewall rule that blocks any inbound ICMP from remote locations. You'll have to set that rule to allow in order for ping/tracert commands to work for non-local addresses. Those rules are not shown by default, so you will also have to select the option (in the rules menu) to show the system rules. You…

Hi, You can not change the files in Bitdefender's program. It is not a matter of being able or not to do so. You do not have the permission of Bitdefender. Bitdefender is not in open source The program's code isn't being changed at all, they are simply image files within its folder. I don't know about Romanian copyright…

Try to disable "Check SSL" with admin rights! Something I might try later. I don't really expect that to make a difference, as other settings even in the same section of BD (search advisor, toolbar) will properly retain settings. I would expect more bugs like this if it were a permission issue preventing settings from…

You'll need to re-toggle the Scan SSL setting. It re-enables itself at every startup, but the option still appears to be disabled. Just set it back to on, then off again. You'll have to repeat this every time Windows is started/restarted. I started a topic on this bug in the Web Protection section of the forum last week.…

The installers here should work for both of you. http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=54672 Sphere and Family Pack are both just multi-device/user versions of Total Security. So as long as your licenses are still valid, the TS installers will work. I bought a Family Pack of the 2014 version, and am currently…

I don't know about Wallet/Safepay or the wifi issues as I don't use either feature. I, and others, have had issues with various settings resetting themselves on restart or even just closing/reopening the BitDefender UI. I'm getting tired of having to open BD just to re-disable Scan SSL feature that breaks some basic…

Does it work with Win 7 64bit? Yes, TCPView works with 7 64bit.
-
Disabling the SSL scan option might not be working because SSL scanning currently re-enables itself at startup. If you go to the setting it will appear to be disabled, but it is actually on. You'll need to check then re-uncheck the option at every OS startup.

Please do not clutter my thread with your other Profiles related problems. Make a new thread specific to your problems regarding the poor implementation of them. Bitdefender once again this is the problem I am having with Profile mode. The other posts here are really the same problem you are having. BitDefender…

It shouldn't alter brightness if you deselect "Adjust power plan and and visual settings for games/etc". Taskbar hiding might fall under the visual settings portion of that, as well. I do agree that settings like these should not be altered by BD for profiles. It actually lowered my display sleep setting from 30 to 15…

My Steam usually refuses to reconnect right after an update (Steam update). It connects with no issue if I quit Steam and reopen it. Steam will also reconnect (without closing/reopening) if I turn off BD's firewall. There's some issue with BD's firewall blocking the new version at first, instead of properly creating/using…

those checkboxes do not have enough contrast. I struggled to see them in the screenshot above at first even with the arrows you added. so depending on the angle and setup of the screen it is entirely possible for people not to see them. I was thinking the same thing when Malacath mentioned not having those boxes. That…

I got it from CNet 2 days before the offline installer links were posted on the forum. I don't think http://www.bitdefender.com/Downloads/ had even been updated to the 2015 yet. It was fairly early on the 9th, and the site was still being changed over for the new version. I'm pretty sure the CNet link was from somewhere on…

I've had profiles disabled because of these bugs. Mine was staying in the game profile even after closing every possible application I could without resorting to killing them with task manager or stopping services. Steam was likely the initial cause for the profile change, but it wasn't reverting to standard after that was…

I swapped to BD last year because of similar moves with KIS. We are quickly running out of options for a security suite that allows for more than install-and-forget solution for the computer illiterate. I don't expect anything as configurable as older KAV versions, but we are losing basic options and the ability to make…

Doesn't work for me either. After analysing it says defragmentation recommended for this volume. When I click run nothing happens. Even though it says volume needs defragmenting it just doesn't work. If it's telling you that a defrag is recommended, it's not the same issue I ran into. Did you check the box(es) to right of…

BD's defrag tool was the only one with this behavior. Both Win7's own and Defraggler would allow defragmentation of partitions on either HDD, although I did not do so with the OS partition (due to restore/system images and little fragmentation). BD would give the same message and not allow any partition to be defragmented,…

Just as a follow up to the previous post, I did take the time to test with and without LPM, and it had no effect. The problem must have been with the iRST service or iastor driver with the previous version. iRST (iastorA.sys/iastorF.sys) 12.9.0.101 works fine for me.

Seems like the version Intel Rapid Storage Technology was the cause. After updating to a newer version (12.9.1.1001), the defragmentation tool works as on both other PCs. In AHCI mode, all this software does is use Intel's AHCI controller driver over the stock Windows driver and enable Link Power Managment. I disabled LPM…

My Vista 32bit laptop says "Defragmentation not required", and a relative's Win 7 64bit laptop had "Defragmenation recommended for this volume". I'll get that 2nd laptop rechecked later, after the defrag is done. It seems to be something specific to my desktop, since it is running the same OS as the Win7 laptop. I just…

Today BitDefender has decided that something running on my PC at startup is a game. Within seconds after restarting, it activates the Game profile. All that is running at this point are utilities associated with hardware, and a few utilities/services. Part of Asus' AI Suite (USB 3 Boost, VRM control, and temp monitor)…

You can disable Windows' complaints about Windows Update from the Action Center in the Control Panel. Click on "Change Action Center Settings" (in the left pane) and uncheck Windows Update under Security Messages. This only disables Windows' complaints about auto updates being disabled, and has no impact on notifications…

So, I answered at least part of this myself after installing BD2015 on my laptop. The only "unnecessary background program" that seemed to be effected was an updater from Adobe, armsvc.exe. There are some others that i expected to see stopped, like the update checker for Java and utilities for my printer, but they remained…

I'd really like to see this added, because I have to disable automatic game mode completely to retain functionality of my mouse software. The popup notification (which was actually hidden by the games) was stealing focus for just a second, which causes Logitech's LGS software to think the game was minmized/alt-tabbed and…

I had a very unspecific notification from BitDefender that simply said something had change on my credit report. I don't expect much from the free version, but I do expect more than being given no information at all. The only thing it would show me at all is was the enrollment page to sign up for their $15/month service.…
