The big surprise move came from Bitdefender, which went from AA last time down to B in the current test. What happened? I asked Simon Edwards, Technical Director of Dennis Labs, if he observed any specific problems. "BitDefender usually performs strongly in our tests," said Edwards, "but this time around was an exception. There were a high number of compromises and these invariably involved some form of ransom ware, such as Cryptowall." Looks like Bitdefender needs to beef up ransomware protection.
