I just got 2015 and I want to stay with it for a while at least. The 2016 version is still new and potentially buggy. Also, from what I've read so far, I'm leery of that ransomware feature although people are saying that it is turned off by default.

I saw in another thread that the autoscans were removed from BD starting with the 2015 versions. I myself welcome this as I consider autoscans to be redundant and worthless. Actually the same goes for email scanning but so far I have left that turned on. You can however, make a Custom Scan and schedule that.

To Identity this I turned off BDTS 2015 ( Firewall, Web Protection, Active Virus Control, On Acess Scanning) and downloaded EICAR file and kept it in a location which I will never access manually. BDFree is not compatible with Windows 10. It most certainly is. It's working perfectly for me. It survived the upgrade from 8.1 to 10 flawlessly.

On running that file it downloaded another file for 64 bit which was the actual installer (Antivirus_Free_Edition_x64.exe which is 9.96mb in size) also into the Downloads folder.…
