You may cancel your Bitdefender subscription from Bitdefender Central or by contacting Customer Support at: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/help/
Thank you for your understanding.
"CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION & CONT PROT" should be "CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL"! Agree?
"CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION AND CONTINUOUS PROTECTION"
should be
"CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL"
I suspect that BitDefender knows how confusing and scary that title is and that is why they use it. I don't want my Bit Defender Subscription to end until the end date but I want it to end at the end date and not renew. I expect continuous protection until that date!
I would be so pissed if all my service stopped when clicking that button!
Do you agree that it's incredibly bad it is for a security company to use dirty tricks to retain customers?! I lose all trust. For me, this is bad, very very bad!

Hello @wwcanoer,
Personally, I think it is quite obvious that when a customer opts out, the ongoing subscription for which he has already paid for will remain valid until the expiration date. A subscription assumes continuity and is basically defined by the configuration preferences of the automatic renewal feature. In the event a subscription is cancelled, this means that the recurring billing is disabled and the subscription becomes a license, so the protection is still there, as long as the license is valid. With an active subscription, the user doesn't have to take action to extend protection manually, so this is basically what continuous protection refers to.
To stop protection altogether, the user would have to delete the Central account and uninstall the solution from the device(s), and this is a completely different process and has nothing to do with canceling the subscription.
I've seen cases where users were deleting the account and removing the product, with the intention to cancel the automatic renewal feature, but this is not how it works, if the subscription remains active and the payment method is valid and still registered on the vendor's platform, then the renewal order will go through on the scheduled expiration date.@Flexx the Support representatives may indeed offer additional information on this topic, but I think we should do our best to explain the terminology used and how continuous protection actually works here as well. 🙂
