Banking apps flag Bitdefender as unauthorised
Granting Bitdefender mobile app (Android) accessibility permissions causes all my banking apps on my phone to refuse to work unless that permission is revoked. Any way to solve this?

Bitdefender's Web Protection feature requires accessibility permission to scan websites for threats, especially during online banking to prevent phishing scams. However, some banking apps may view this permission as a security risk, causing conflicts.
Additionally, using a VPN on your Android device, such as Bitdefender VPN, or an ad blocker can also prevent banking apps from functioning correctly. This happens because the VPN or ad blocker redirects all traffic, which may not be compatible with the security measures required by banking apps.
In summary, while Web Protection ensures safe browsing, using VPNs or ad blockers on Android devices can interfere with banking app operations due to security protocols.

Hello @Melphis,
It sounds like the respective banking apps have implemented this security measure to ensure that user data is safe.
More than likely, they do a general check and this doesn't work if there is any 'Accessibility Service' active from any app.
Unfortunately, I don't think there's anything that the security app developers can do in such cases. It looks like the kind of situation that should be reported to the developers of the respective apps, who might add some exceptions to the rule (e.g. popular security solutions). The only thing you could do is to disable 'Accessibility' manually while using that banking app and then enable it again.
Out of curiosity, what banking app is it? For example, we know for sure that there are no issues with Revolut and ING.Regards,
