Need to block malicous links on Facebook app (mom clicks all kinds of links)
My mom occasionally goes to malicious links from the Facebook app and one time Google's Home feed even contained one of them. Does BitDefender mobile pre-emptively block these links or does it block the page after clicking it?
And is the paid version needed, or does free do it too?
I have experience with the PC version but not the mobile version so I want to know how the mobile app will protect her if she tries to click on a link to a malware/scam page.

Hello @Dan 2B
As for the question, I hope this helps you as well. I am currently using the paid version for Bitdefender Mobile, and so far for now I would say yes, the Bitdefender app does block those malicios links not just on facebook but other social platforms like whatsapp, telegram etc with also the introduction of the scam alert feature.
I too also do at times may accidentally click some of these links and I immediately get block by the Antivirus so far as I have been using it. I have attached a screenshot for you on a previous link that it has blocked for me and how it looks like but please also do have a read on the scam alert below for you to get a more and clear understanding of it😊

To add, the Bitdefender mobile app offers protection against malicious links and phishing attempts. Here’s how it works:
- Pre-emptive Blocking: If a website is malicious or phishing and tries to connect in the background, Bitdefender can block it if the website is in its database.
- Click-based Blocking: If someone deliberately clicks on a phishing or malicious link, Bitdefender will block it, provided the website is in its database.
In both cases, the malicious or phishing website must be listed in Bitdefender's database for effective blocking. If the website is not in the database and is not being blocked, you will need to share the website with the Bitdefender malware research team, as per the link provided below.
https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/29358/
If the website is indeed malicious or phishing, detection will be added within a maximum of 72 hours. However, if no detection is available even after 72 hours, kindly consider the website safe, as determined by Bitdefender's malware researchers, and no detection will be created for it.
