PIN on a droid phone

I have 2 Samsung Galaxy S8+'s. The first phone was my main phone. I had a second S8+ for a backup incase my original phone broke. So my original phone is starting to act flakey so i am switching over to my 2nd phone. switched over the sim card. before I switched over the sim card I uninstalled Bitdefender using the PIN I created on that phone, the first phone. So I used the link from the Bitdefender to install Bitdefender on my second phone, it went to the playstore. I clicked install, i opened bitdefender, then it said sign in. i think I saw my email then it skipped over to another screen like it did an auto sign in, so now when i try to activate anything in Bitdefender it asks for a PIN. what PIN are they asking…is it a PIN from when I created my Bitdefender account or what?

  • Hello @DronePilot,

The PIN is set after installation, so most likely it was set by you. If you no longer remember it, delete the device from Bitdefender Central and you will receive a logout prompt in the application as well. And then you can go through the process again.

  • you mean my main device I originally installed the Bitdefender on?

  • Hi,

The PIN is set after the BMS install on your Samsung Galaxy device in this case. Try this:

    1. Access your Bitdefender Central account.
    2. Tap  in the upper-left corner of the screen, and then select My Devices.
    3. Tap the desired device card, and then tap Rename on the upper right side of the page.
    4. Retrieve the PIN code from the Application PIN field.

If the PIN cannot be retrieved for some reason, kindly reach out to Bitdefender Support for further assistance. You can get in touch with the Bitdefender engineers by choosing one of the contact channels listed here:

State your contact reason / choose request category, then choose from the available contact channels, chat, phone and email/ticket. Chat would be the fastest way to reach them.
