PIN on a droid phone

I have 2 Samsung Galaxy S8+'s. The first phone was my main phone. I had a second S8+ for a backup incase my original phone broke. So my original phone is starting to act flakey so i am switching over to my 2nd phone. switched over the sim card. before I switched over the sim card I uninstalled Bitdefender using the PIN I created on that phone, the first phone. So I used the link from the Bitdefender to install Bitdefender on my second phone, it went to the playstore. I clicked install, i opened bitdefender, then it said sign in. i think I saw my email then it skipped over to another screen like it did an auto sign in, so now when i try to activate anything in Bitdefender it asks for a PIN. what PIN are they asking…is it a PIN from when I created my Bitdefender account or what?

    Hi,

The PIN is set after the BMS install on your Samsung Galaxy device in this case. Try this:

    1. Access your Bitdefender Central account.
    2. Tap  in the upper-left corner of the screen, and then select My Devices.
    3. Tap the desired device card, and then tap Rename on the upper right side of the page.
    4. Retrieve the PIN code from the Application PIN field.

If the PIN cannot be retrieved for some reason, kindly reach out to Bitdefender Support for further assistance. You can get in touch with the Bitdefender engineers by choosing one of the contact channels listed here:

    https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/help/

State your contact reason / choose request category, then choose from the available contact channels, chat, phone and email/ticket. Chat would be the fastest way to reach them.

  • Hello @DronePilot,

The PIN is set after installation, so most likely it was set by you. If you no longer remember it, delete the device from Bitdefender Central and you will receive a logout prompt in the application as well. And then you can go through the process again.

  • you mean my main device I originally installed the Bitdefender on?

  • So I did contact technical support, so like u said the PIN is created when I installed BD on my first phone, the phone had issues so I took the sim card out and installed the sim card into a spare phone of the same model. so when I installed BD the second phone, then opened BD, I think, not sure but the first page it asked for my email…i think then after that …probably enter my account password , then create the PIN for the phone?, what was happening was the page that asked for my email, it blew by that after 6 seconds and went to the lets get started page and of course any option I chose asked for a PIN. I entered my PIN I entered the PIN I created for the first phone, did not work on the second phone. So the BD tech asked did you try your phone PIN. I tried and the phone PIN worked👍. Glad for that,

how can someone get into my phone remotely? would they need the phone lock PIN?, if they do and the PIN works on the BD not much sense, of course BD may keep them from getting In, have not looked yet to see if there now is a PIN in RENAME my device

so is there a way to change the pin for BD, of if I change the PIN for my phone will the old phone PIN stay for BD or change with the new PIN for the phone lock 😀

I found this will try tomorrow

to change your Bitdefender PIN on your phone, open the Bitdefender app, tap "More" on the bottom navigation bar, then go to "Settings" and select "Security PIN CODE" in the Anti-Theft area; enter your current PIN, then set your new PIN.
