I can't open BitDefender on my Desktop PC

I am running a Windows 10 PC on an HP Desktop pc. Windows Defender keeps telling me to turn on Bit Defender. However although the Icon is on my screen it won't open. Neither will it open when I try to open the program from the Start menu. I can log into my BitDefender from the web on the pc but all it tells me is that I am secure. When I try to run malware scans or system scans from the web version it tells me "Command sent" without actually doing anything. Can anyone help please?

Regards

John

    Hi @John R Banks

Do you have any other security solution installed on your pc? If yes this might be interfering with the bitdefender app, either uninstall it or whitelist bitdefender in it.

If you don't have any other security program that might be interfering with your bitdefender then I think it is best if you try to reinstall the bitdefender app. First uninstall the bitdefender using the uninstall tool which you can download from here: https://www.bitdefender.com/links/uninstall_consumer_paid.html

Then remove any remaining bitdefender files, you can do this using revo uninstaller to remove any remaining bitdefender files, you can download revo from here: https://www.revouninstaller.com/

If after reinstalling bitdefender it still does not open then it will be best if you contact bitdefender support, you can contact support through e-mail, chat or phone form here: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/help/

  • Thank you very much
