Dear friends,

I have a question to you all. Lets say that I've returned my Phone to factory reset to prevent spy app. If they know my gmail adress and password they can install spy app without physical access? And is there a way to learn who is behind it?

Bitdefender anti virus app scans my phone everyday and results say that I am safe. Can I trust it!!?

    Hello,

I think that if someone knows your Gmail credentials, they could potentially compromise your account, but they wouldn't be able to install a spy app on your phone remotely without physical access. Spy apps generally require manual installation on a device, making remote installation highly unlikely unless there is a serious vulnerability in the device's security. Adding 2FA to your Gmail account will add an extra layer of security, requiring more than just your password to access your account. In your Google account, you can also check the "Security" tab for any unrecognized logins or devices. If you suspect someone knows your password, it's a good idea to change it and ensure it's strong and unique. Also, it is recommended to go through your phone's app permissions to ensure no app has excessive access that seems suspicious.

Regarding Bitdefender, it is a reputable antivirus program trusted by millions of users worldwide. Daily scans are helpful for detecting malware and known spy apps, and if Bitdefender says your phone is safe, you can trust it.

However, I think no antivirus can detect everything, especially if new or highly sophisticated spyware is used, so it is important to be vigilant and review your phone's behavior for suspicious activities like unexpected battery drain, overheating, or apps that you don’t recall installing.

As for identifying who might be behind it, tracking the source of a spy app is difficult, but law enforcement or cybersecurity professionals may be able to help depending on the situation.
