vpn not connecting automatically

It has just started recently VPN is not connecting automatically I am having to wait a long time having to go in/out of VPN icon before it will connect today it connected after a while in the Netherlands before I hit the uk box

    I’m in the US and having a similar issue on my iPhone. VPN is set to automatic. But each time I check the VPN, it indicates it is not running.

    Thanks for your comment mostly VPN connects with no issues but then other times I have to faff around to get it to connect using a different location ie another country Other times when trying to do my grocery shopping online my particular supermarket denies me entry that is when I use a different location and mostly works ( try that see if it works
