How can I disable or hide "File Shredder" in the context menu?
I just accidentally shredded some files when I was trying to scan them, because of the ridiculous placement of the two options right next to each other in the right-click context menu. Thank goodness they happened to be files I was going to delete anyway, but one day I won't be so lucky.
I did in fact search for this question before making my own post, and I found an answer to the effect of "you can't, but it doesn't matter because it prompts you for confirmation anyway, so you'll never accidentally shred a file." This is blatantly WRONG. I got ZERO confirmation prompt. The files were gone the instant I misclicked.
I miss Kaspersky, which only gave me one option in the context menu: to scan. An antivirus's one job. (And it wasn't unnecessarily nested inside a sub-menu, either. That saved precious time and effort that I'm now wasting every time I need to scan a file.) I understand having additional options at my disposal, but why can't I decide for myself what I need easy access to and what I don't?
This is absolutely horrific design and I can't believe it was ever implemented this way in the first place. I don't care if I have to hack something. There has to be a way to fix it.

Hi @Molly629
This question was also asked recently, and there really isn't any way to hide or disable it. You can see if Flexx software link would work from that thread, but we never got any feedback regarding if it did or didn't.
But you should have had a pop up window from Bitdefender verifying if you wanted to permanently delete the file, in my case right clicking to shred the desktop tabliss file.
You may need to run a repair, if that prompt isn't showing up on your end, as you mentioned.
Kind regards.
