Bd Firewall Question

Hiya...

I was looking at a competitors website and I found that a firewall they offer protects against buffer overflow attacks.

Specifically:

* Detection of Buffer Overflows which occur in the STACK memory,

* Detection of Buffer Overflows which occur in the HEAP memory,

* Detection of ret2libc attacks,

* Detection of corrupted/bad SEH Chains

Does the BitDefender firewall offer the same protection?

Thanks.

  • Hello tsec,

    So far that I know BitDefender firewall doesn't protect against this attack. You can always try this protection which is free by the way. I also think that that is also the product you were refering to. You can always post that suggestion into the feature request forum section of this forum so it might be added into a new BitDefender version.

    Kind regards,

    Niels
