Answered an e-mail that turned out to be a scam. They got into my computer even though I gave them limited info. Recommended i have computer profesionaly scaned before using it again.
Is this necessary, or am I protected by Bitdefender?

I'm sorry to hear this.
If you’ve fallen victim to a scam and have provided any sensitive personal information, depending on what information was disclosed, take these actions immediately:

1. Change the password of the account – email, social media, etc. – you provided information about. If you use the same password elsewhere, change that, too. If you struggle to remember all of your passwords, you might benefit from using a password manager.
2. If you believe that a fraudster may have obtained any bank details or credentials, contact your bank right away and explain that you’re the victim of a scam.
3. Report the scam to the proper authorities.
4. Perform a full system scan with Bitdefender.

Now, I do have a few questions. First, how did you come up to the conclusion that they have infiltrated your PC and what symptoms suggest this?
Did you click any URLs in that phishing email, and if yes, where did they redirect you and what information was requested there, what details have you provided (if any) and what exactly happened next? Also, what was the text in the email body, and the email title? This would prove useful, to raise awareness.

Some spam emails may contain malicious links or attachments that can infect your device with malware or viruses, compromising its security. Therefore, it’s important to have a security solution installed on your device to help detect and prevent any potential security threats. Which leads me to my next question: did Bitdefender detect or block anything in the process, did you get any pop-up from the antivirus? You can also check this in the Notifications section in the Bitdefender UI.
