Bitdefender And Nprotect Gameguard Incompatible?
All right, from what I've read here, it appears that bitdefender's tech support isn't responding to some people.
Now, I'm having a problem trying to run an online game called Soldier Front (sfront.ijji.com), as it uses a widely-known anti-cheat program known as nProtect Gameguard.
From what I know bout this, gameguard crashes my computer the moment bitdefender total security 2009's firewall asks me whether or not I want to allow it internet access.
In case you dont know bout gameguard, this is a widely-known program. From wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GameGuard
Quite a number of popular online games use this anti-cheat program which emulates rootkit behavior on Windows-based systems to achieve it's aim of protecting the game it is assigned to.
Already, Mcafee detects gameguard as Generic!Artemis.
A few other AVs do that too. I don't know about bitdefender since I just installed the product less than 24 hrs ago.
Either bitdefender does something about this stupid korean-made anti-cheat program, or it'll continue crashing my vista home premium 32-bit system at its own will.
Thank you and have a nice day.

Someone will look into this problem and it should be fixed in a couple of days tops. In the mean time you can add this file to exceptions in BitDefender. Here's a screen-shot on how to do it:

Hi ,
I've a same kind of problem withFlyff / gameguard nprotect.
Tha game won't start unless I deactivate both firewall and antivirus. One or anther doesn't not work , even in game mode.
After the start up I can reactivate both so I guess it is a nprotect compatibility at start up.
It was working before an update of flyff . I am under XP and it does work under Vista on another computer with BD also.
I have no pop up window to ask if I authorize the files .0
