Does Scan Take Place If Pc Is In Sleep Mode?

Hi I would like to know if you schedule a scan for at night and your pc is in sleep mode.. will the bitfinder still be able to do a scan?? and are there any settings that i need to adjust in order for it to work. I am using the antivirus 2008
