Deep System Scan Doesn't Quit
I am running Internet Security 2009 on an XP Pro SP3 system, 2 Gb Ram. Within the past few weeks deep scanning seems to never end a scan. I generally quit the scan after it seems to be going nowhere after 8 or more hours. It has been scanning for 24 hours now and is still going. My wife's system finishes a scan within 6 hours and our configurations aren't that different.
It has been "scanning for rootkits" (hidden files) for the last 12 hours. The scanned item count is still going up it has passed 2,385,000.
Full system scans run fine. (Two Full System Scans have run during the time that the deep scan has been running.)
Thanks in advance for any help.

I hadn't noticed the previous post, but no, I am not running anyother kind of firewall. Had Norton before BD and it is good and gone. I finally killed the Deep Scan after 32 hours of spinning its wheels. I'll do some more searching of the forum database, but anyone with another idea is welcome to comment.0
