Removing My Bitdefender Registry From A Computer

Hi. Happens that I sold my old computer to a friend, and he wants to update the Bitdefender Internet Security from 2008 to 2009. He wants to remove my registry key from the program, but he hasn't been able. How can I tell him to remove it? He's tried to uninstall the program, and reinstalling the 2009 evaluation version, but it won't erase my key registration. Any ideas?
