Bitdefender 2009 Scan Hangs On Same File Every Time

Just installed BD 2009 and downloaded the latest updates. When I do either a deep or full system scan, the scan hangs for eternity on the same file:

c:\System Volume Information\MountPointManagerRemoteDatabase

Running XP Home w/SP3, with Admin privileges and I'm able to open this folder successfully with Explorer. File system is NTFS.

Anyone have an idea how to get around this? The product isn't of much use if I can't do a scan. Previous BD version was V10 which worked just fine on this system.
